at the of­fice or in the class­room,
af­ter bing­ing in the af­ter­noon on
gas-pro­duc­ing food­stuffs,
with said di­ges­tive or­gan of said
an­i­mat­ed be­ing
en­larged &
burst­ing at the seams in
pants that had been cho­sen
not to be worn af­ter such a meal,
so when the belt is loos­ened &
the top but­ton un­but­toned,
out from the mouth comes a
par­tic­u­lar squish of air that
can be rec­og­nized as both a
burp
(eruc­ta­tion)
&
a yawn
(gap­ing open mouth in­di­cat­ing
tired, weary, lack of care),
but no one knows which is
a more ac­cu­rate
de­pic­tion,
so in uni­son
all who have wit­nessed it,
pro­claim it a
“yurp!”
